Hello and welcome to my wedding and portrait photography website. Hope you enjoy what you see. Here is a bit about me, Cathy, professional wedding and portrait photographer.

Photography has been in my life from as far back as I can remember. I was bought my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, at the age of twelve, which I used avidly to create ‘snapshots’ of my friends and family. When I started to travel, photography played an important factor, as I wanted to capture the essence of everything that surrounded me from landscapes to people, from places to cultures. Every image would tell a story. That is when I bought my first SLR camera. Photography became a passionate hobby.

In 2002 I gave up teaching and pursued my passion. I took myself back to college to get up to speed and enrolled on a two year BTEC National Diploma Photography course. I qualified with a triple distinction. This has enabled me to proceed into the professional world of photography with confidence. As a result I set up Oehlers Photography. My commitment to continual professional development is key to both the first class quality and fresh, up to date appeal of my photographs.

For me, photography is all about capturing those important moments that you will cherish forever. As a wedding photographer my aim is for you to be able to relive the emotions of your wedding day through the images, whether it is now, in ten, twenty or thirty years time. I have a relaxed, personable as well as an enthusiastic and professional approach with a dedication to producing the best for you, my clients. My style is unobtrusive but observant, documentary and not staged which results in images that have a natural quality.
